  • In a word processor you can choose to have the figure to which the other is raised as superscript. In a text editor like this one you can use a superscripted 2 or 3 (N², N³) by using Character Map (Alt + 0178 = ² and Alt + 0179 = ³). The normal multiplication (×) and division (÷) are also available from Character Map. The square root symbol is part of the Symbols font, so you can switch to that font for just the one letter and then revert to a normal font.
