Do you ever tell just say maybe we can do lunch sometime and not really mean it just to blow someone off?

No, I'm just an introvert. I dont do the lunch thing with anybody nor do I blow smoke up somebody's bum of false promises. : )

Actually, I do it all the time. For some odd reason, people feel less threatened by getting lunch together than dinner.

no, i don't "lie" to blow someone off. I have no problem not making false diplomatic suggestions. If I see someone, that I have NO intention of "hooking up" with, I say hello, and tell them to take care...that is all. It is not awkward for me to talk to someone I don't want to get together with... and I don't like it when ppl do this to me...disrespectful and cowardly.

No !!! The only time I say that is if I mean it... Otherwise I just say , Take Care , Later, Goodbye, or Nothing at all.

No, never! If I don't want to go to lunch with them I just don't ask - I'll simply say goodbye or I have to go or something like that. It's silly to say something like "let's do lunch" if you don't mean it.
