No, that is about it. We don't agree with most Christians on a number of doctrines. So, they deny our claims to being Christian despite the fact that we accept Jesus as our Savior, Redeemer, and as the Son of God. Then again, many of these same religions will also deny the Christianity of the Catholic church. So, I don't take their narrow-minded declarations very seriously.

Okay thanks for your post! First of all 90% of my family is mormon! And Yes you do beleive jesus christ is your savior! BUT so does everyone else buddy, the JEWS, CHRISTIANS, MORMONS, SATANISM, + JESUS is even in the coran! It seems to me as if you are afraid of being a different religion!?! If I beleived is something so ridiculous I sure would be proud of it! You said we follow the same teachings as christians, but to tell you the truth I do not know one religion out there that doesn not follow the same basic teachings?? if you know of a religion that doesn't beleive in the same teachings as jesus, not the person himself just his veiws, ei. the ten commanments, and the good things he did. All are the same! Don't commit sin or you will be cast fourth and wither in the branches of hell or something silly like that. ps. I am not a christian, I think I have a very positive attitude! By no definition is Mormonism Christian. It's not about simple disagreement but a fundamental difference on core teachings and articles of faith. Mormonism is a cult, not a sect of Christianity.

Considering all definitions of christianity come from men and not god, I don't see how any sect of christianity can claim to be more valid than the other. The domination of the catholic variation of what is claimed to be Jesus' teachings was due to superior military and political might and not via an endorsement from jesus. The catholics simply crushed all that did not agree. The protestant variations have their roots in the catholic tradition yet have major fundamental differences. That , yet another group, could, add their own twist is no different in my opnion since none of it can be proven. I have seen sects of christianity claim that other sects are completely wrong and that their teachings would damn its followers to hell. talk to a Church of Christ member and they will passionately tell you that every denomination has it completely wrong but them and that they are the only true christians.

You know what's funny, every single so-called Christian I've come accross in my life (including those on AB) claims that only they are the real thing and the others aren't so, shouldn't we just take the whole Christian madness with a grain of salt?

I don't see how you can call Mormons Christian, unless you call Christians Jewish. In both instances the latecomer took the predecessor's holy scriptures as a starting point for a book of their own (whether you see that later book as a perfection, a tangent or a bastardisation is up to the individual in either case).
