  • There was a girl in my middle school who got pregnant, gave birth to twins, and her mom adopted them! It's been I think about 13 years now... I wonder how their lives are now!
  • one too many times-its a sad picture of what the world is raising
  • I am curious as to why the question was raised? Just curious. But to be honest with you this is a big problem. Babies having Babies. My sister worked in a naternity Ward and said on daily basis there was 12-15 yr olds coming in having kids! I have seen in up here in the North country in the rural schools where the kids drop out for a year have their kid and come back to school. So it is not just an urban thing.
  • I think its a sad fact of life. I think there should be more education about birth control and they should start teaching it early. Hoping that kids won't engage in sexual activity just doesn't work.
  • When I was in middle school, one of the girls who was in 6th grade (yes, you read that correctly) got pregnant and had to quit school. This was back in the early 80's. My daughter has told me that there were a couple of girls in her middle school that got pregnant as well. Quite frankly, it's scary and sad. Girls who are sexually active at a young age are in desperate need for a male's attention and they figure out fast that seuxality is one of the easiest ways to get this attention. I read an article that most girls who get pregnant before the age of 17 have no father figure in their lives.
  • More than I would want. It's a shame this had to happen.. The lower limit keeps decreasing. Where is the world going?
  • its very common here in UK - i think its extremely SAD!!!
  • It happens ever so often. The just don't realize all the implications of their actions and the possible results. They are not taught how NOT to get pg, just not to do it. That doesn't work and statistics of girls with no sex ed at all and those who have had the 'just say no' ed have the same pregnancy rates. No differences. Agencies like Planned Parenthood and others (including people like myself) have predicted that for years.
  • I agree with You Can Leave Your Hat On...It is very common in the Uk. I am a midwife in the UK and just this past week I have delivered one 12 year old, three 13 year olds and a 15 year old today. I think that it is very sad and also that the problem needs to be addressed as it does appear to be on the increase. It is heartbreaking when I look after these girls especially to have to see them so distressed during labour and delivery a lot of them don't fully understand that bringing a child into this world is not easy and even though we try and prepare them for labour when it actually happens a lot of them just go into complete shock and horror and at the end of it they are exhausted to the point that they just go into complete shut down, it is just very sad.
