Why do people love babies and kids so much? Whenever I say something negative about them, they would take my words offensive!

Well awc, I've been watching you for a while here on AB and I think it's fair to say that often, you want people to take offense at your remarks. You like the conflict.

Kids are our future. I have 6 grandkids. I adore each of them. Each has their own little personality. Oh by the way I have 4 kids, 3 of tem I raised on my own from the time they wre 1,3,5 to adulthood. I may not have a lot because of that but I have a lot more in my heart because I have them!

First, Americans only know how to do about three things well: (1) breed; (2) eat (read as get fat); and believe in things that don't exist (whether they're deities, terrorists, Communists or space aliens). Because all babies and little creatures (human or animal) are cuter. Think about a little puppy for example - it's so cute, it's so helpless, so when you see it you almost instantly become his guard and start protecting it from enemies and negative words (as in your question). Same applies to human babies and kids.

In my experience, when people say something that is out of the ordinary, such as saying something negative about babies, it is done for the express purpose of creating drama. To answer your question, loving babies is a survival trait that is built into our deepest psyche since they are necessary for the continuation of the species.
