I dont find them uncomfortable, unless their the wrong size. They make you feel sexy and nice. They dont help you avoid panty lines, if you want to wear a really nice dress and avoid them you just dont wear them.
I am a guy but in my opinion
a very ugly piece of clothing
cant imagine it would feel that good
because they are sexy. Yes they are uncomfortable but they don't stay on long. Who wears them to avoid panty lines? lol
I wish I knew myself! I tried it, found it uncomfortable, and don't care about panty lines!
I am sure though, that they wouldn't exist if they were that bad to wear, so some women must find them comfy to wear. Maybe some women also feel sexier in them (we all like to feel sexy!).
Some women love thongs and others hate the feeling of something in their crack. I can't assign it to body size or prudishness. The variation runs the gamut.
In case you are wondering how I conducted this poll. It is very surprising how open the average woman is about their opinion about thongs. They just need to see them or if any of their friends mention them and they all have to chime in about their preferences. I just stand back and listen.
As a female, I wear both but I honestly prefer nice comfortable Hanes, Playtex, Victoria's Secret or Fruit of Loom cotton bikinis. I buy the right size and I rarely get VPLs. I have thongs that I wear under clingy clothes but I kind of don't like something flossing my butt crack all day-yuck! I just as soon not wear underwear or panty hose if panty lines are so taboo but I'll stick to my comfy cottons and if someone notices then they're looking too much at my butt! Besides, I never get complaints from my boyfriend.
It's not really uncomfortable unless they are too small.
While it's not of earth shattering importance to avoid panty lines, it does look nicer without them. If someone is going to be looking at my butt, I would rather they aren't thinking, "Wow, she wears granny panties".
On behalf of many guys, who cares why? Thongs look hot on almost all women.
I have been told that it is uncomfortable at first, but you get used to it. I had similar experiences when Wifey wanted me to start wearing boxer briefs. Felt funny at first but you get used to it.
As for panty lines, blame innovations in textiles. 20 years ago, the textile industry couldn't deliver fine (thin), durable materials for fashion the way they do today. As fabric got thinner, panty lines became more obvious. Many, if not most, women under 45 are embarassed if their underwear is apparant, so thongs are the only way to go.
As I have no teeth in this area, I see no reason for floss. No underwear works just fine in avoiding those pesky panty lines.
Yes it is that important , Panty lines look cheap and tacky and detract from any oufit. We have almost all had the problem on occassions. Before thongs people went without panties with clothes that they would show. It is more hygenic to have some kind of pantie and all thongs are not uncomfortable.
I would not wear them as a reguler thing just sometimes they are necessary
I think women look better in those boy short panties, much better. It leaves a little more to the imagination.
It's like dental floss for your butt.
I hate wearing thongs, but if I'm wearing pants that I need to ware a thong for I will! Plus I'm afraid that a thong will give me an infection! It does not matter how clean you keep it down there things can still spread!
thongs are very uncomfortable i agree it is important to not have panty lines, but you can allways not wear panties too
I don't wear thongs. I don't care if I have a panty line. I'm all about the comfort baby. I don't wear granny panty's either. But if I wanted something up my butt all the time...well, nevermind, I'm not saying that last bit.
I don't see the point in wearing thongs. Their only purpose is to go up your butt and keep you from having panty lines. If you are that concerned about panty lines, you might as well not wear underwear at all. In my opinion, if your pants or skirt are tight enough that your underwear can be seen through them, you need a larger size of clothing anyway.
They are so comfortable. You can even feel them
I don't wear thongs. It's impossible to fasten a panty liner to a thong. I like full coverage cotton panties. Panty lines?? How tight do you think a woman's pants or skirt should be?
Men should wear thongs, they never get discharge or periods.

i love wearing tight thongs, the best one's i've come across are called a control thong, they are waist high and slightly elastic and a tight fit around the bum, when i put them on they slip instantly up my arse crack, within seconds they feel tight and snug, they are so sexy, the crotch is not too narrow, about 1 inch so they don't cut in,i normaly wear them 2 or 3 times a week,it's better that way so when i do wear them it's something special,i've worn them today out shopping with stockings and suspenders under a knee length pink skirt with high heels, because they are high waisted and a all round tight fit they never slip down or get loose,it's a very eroctic feeling walking around with my thong knickers so tight and snug up my arse under my skirt, tight waist high support thongs are the best for me. Jane
Thongs are so much more comfortable now than they were about 20 years ago. I tried my first thongs about then, before they became so mainstream, and I never quite got used to them. Now with all of the brands offering them, they have gotten more competitive and started really trying to make them more comfortable. Some still aren't, IMO, mostly the ones that are more decorative.
It's only been in the last 5 or 6 years that I started buying them again, and now all but a few of my panties are thongs.
at first it is a bit uncomfortable with a piece of material wedged between your butt cheeks, but after a while, you get used to it and it feels ok. the tendency is to intially pull it, but with time, it gets better. i prefer the g string type, with as little material as possible. as far as vpl, there is some truth to it, but a thong also shows lines, just higher up on your butt.
its not just to avoid pantylines i think there comfertable
Well I have heard avoiding them is a must
They're cute
No
Yes.
Not uncomfortable at all :)
not ALL of them are uncomfortable. and they are way cuter, and ya no panty lines
Yes, it is that important. Whenever I see panty lines through someone's pants I know that she doesn't care enough about fashion or how she looks to take the time and effort to wear something that's flattering.
Sometimes you need to sacrifice comfort for fashion; but also if you get the "g-string" type of thongs you don't feel it.
I actually think they are the most comfortable to wear during the day cuz I dont even feel them or notice they are there. Full bottomed undies are fuckin retarted, they ride and your always tryin to pull them outta your crack! I save them to sleep in! Thongs rule!
i agree thats why i swiched from boxers to thongs in the 9th grade and no one has had a problem with it... its very comfordable and it hold my dtuuf up right... me and my girlfriend go to the store and pick out each others underwear but of course i only wear mens thongs.
I wear a thong because it's comfortable - a lot of the time undies tend to ride up on me and I'm forever pulling them out or squirming around, all of which looks funny in public. With a thong, there's no rear seams along the leg holes that dig into the skin.
A thong is perfectly comfortable if you are wearing the right size and you buy them in the sorts of fabrics that are comfortable and stretchy - I tend to go for the seamless sort, which means that there are no hard edges rubbing anywhere. I really don't care terribly much about visible pantylines (I'll wear knickers with trousers if that's what I've got available), but I also sometimes wear a thong to prevent them and I also tend to wear thongs simply for comfort's sake. Sometimes I don't bother with a thong and just go bare, mainly under trousers where no-one can tell what I've got on unless I get hit by a bus.
I guess that is a sacrifice you have to make LOL
?
Thongs, or nothing at all.
you get used to the feeling of thongs, some woman feel good about themselves when wearing something sexy such as a thong.
Yes it is that important to avoid panty lines and they aren't all that uncomfortable. I try to avoid wearing anything at all, but I would take a thong over granny panties any day.
Many men find it much more attractive than regular panties.
Yes it is uncomfortable the first few times, but after that you don't even feel anything.
Panty lines are very unattractive to both genders and noticeable in tight clothing. Thongs and G-Strings are a very easy way to rid of the annoyance.
Comfort ... simply, thongs are much more comfortable than traditional panties.

Honestly people that say they are uncomfortable have never worn one or have worn them to tight. It feels like you're wearing nothing. Ps I'm a guy
thongs are sexy and i wear 'em when i'm bout to have SEX with husband
I only wear them on special occasions with my fiance since they never stay on for very long those days ;) if I'm gonna go out shopping or with friends and don't want panty lines, I just wear boy short type undies.
They r uncomfy @ 1st, but once u wear them 4 a few days u get used 2 the feeling. I knw my boyfriends love it when I wear a thong. I only wear a thong becuz then it pursuades the boy 2 have sex with me. Of course they dig in2 ur butt, but they buy u sex!!!!!! every1 luhvs sex!!!!!!!! DUH!!!!!!!! I started 2 wear thongs when I wuz 13, and now im 16. I started having sex @ 13 too. A thong covers all the private parts too. It covers ur vagina, pubic hair and all tht stuff down there. So go 2 a bra and undies store, and BUY A THONG!!!!!!!! HAve sex. SEX IS LIFE!!!!!!!!! bUT ALOT OF PPL THINK HAVING SEX @ A YOUNG AGE IS BEING SLUTY!!!!! Don't listen to them
i agree, thongs are un-attractive!
I'm male but I've wondered why girls and women wear these. I think it's part fad and part fashion. My feeling is that they must be rather uncomfortable as it's not really normal to have something between one's buttocks and touching the anus. I could care less if a woman's panties show through her outer pants. People are way too concerned with trivial matters while totally ignoring the things in life that are important.

i love wearing tight support thongs, the best one's i have i bought in marks and spencer called shapewear firm control thong with a high waist, a tight all round fit, especialy up my arse, feels very eroctic, today i've been out today wearing them with stockings and suspenders under a pink knee lenght skirt, i love walking around feeling these sexy thong knickers so tight up my arse. Jane
I used to wear them. Stopped doing it because its too damn uncomfortable. And I heard its not healthy to wear after a while. There's a reason why they call it butt floss.
Hell yeah, panties are a turn off.
I think thongs are more comfortable than normal underwear. Granted the first time you wear one it is bit uncomfortable, but after you've gotten used to it it's preferable to underwear.
I would think that if a woman had to go to the bathroom in the middle of the day and didn't wipe good, that BM would get on it at some point during the rest of the day. And do the stains come off of the thin piece the abuts the anus? Any input would greatly be appreciated because I am using this subject matter in my thesis for my Masters degree. I go to B.U.M in Texas
