Do all women expect their boyfriends or husbands to call them periodically, even if the man is busy with something like school or work?

Only if he has time! There are some days I'm at work when i have absolutely no time to wee nevermind make a call or text! I generally wait until lunch but yeah we speak everyday somehow.

Not really. I don't like to be called when I'm at work. We'll usually just email eachother during work just to say hi.

It really depends on the circumstances. My husband calls me at home every few hours to check in on how our infant twins are doing. He misses them terribly when he is at work, but it is good for us to touch base at various points during the day so that we can keep on top of any changes to their diet or sleeping patterns (sounds awfully exciting, right?) Before we had our twins, we would probably speak on the phone once a day outside of seeing each other in the morning or afternoon. If we needed to contact each other we usually just sent text messages. I don't like being in a relationship with someone who is clingy or who needs to talk to me every hour of the day. I'm far too busy for that kind of thing and it gives the impression of being worryingly co-dependent.

I only expect that if they say they are going to call then they actually do ! Yes once a day or more especially if I was not living with him.

Not so much "periodically"... if Hubby says he's going to be home at 12, and he runs into a friend and decides to stay and hang out, THEN I expect a call saying "Hey, Stinky Pete's here. I'll be home around 3 instead."

no...thats nuts!!! we have a life too. one simple phone call if you are going to be late..or whatever is all. i do however like when my bf is working out of town to call me before he goes to bed...just to kow how he is and how his day was. if he called me periodically....i'd send him to voicemail, lol
