"in moments of weakness, the myth of the extraordinary provides the excuse for an artist to quit." i know it doesn't sound that "hopeful" but to me, it gives me great courage. i got it from a book called "art & fear." it wasn't meant to be read as a quote, i guess, it was just in the middle of a sentence. i wrote it down in a notebook (i was at barnes and noble) and now it's on a post-it on my wall.
