  • the cost of support depends on the non-custodial parents income. i am the custodial parent of a 13 yr old, and there is an order for her father to pay, but he doesn't, and never has. he gets away with it. no, i did not have her because i wanted money. children cost more than what child support covers. i had her because i got pregnant and it was my responsibility to take care of her. her father has done nothing, i do it all myself. i know a lot of mothers do try to bleed a man dry with support, but not everyone is like that. i do think my ex should have to support his child, and he should be in prison for neglecting her since the day i became pregnant. i can honestly say that i see it as him owing my child, not me. if i ever did get one thin dime from his unemployed, felon ass, it would go into her savings account, i would not spend it on myself like a lot of people do.
  • Child support is the fucking you get for the fucking you got. Simple as that. I have to admit child support laws are wrong! I got my kids...all 3 and she paid 80 a month! I had 1 by another girl and paid 220 a month at the same time! Where is the fairness!
  • In the state of Michigan, child support is caculated by using a look up table. Custodial parent's income on the side and non custodial parent across the bottom. Where they meet is what they suggest you pay. This amount can be adjusted to any amount if both parties agree to that amount. Gender never comes into the picture. As a man who paid a good chunk of money to my ex I know it is hard to send money to {{HER}} or {{HIM}} but that is where it needs to go. I also (from my second wife) know what it is like to be on the other end. HE (her ex) is over 100K behind in support. She never got money when she needed it and they all had a rough time several years ago. Now all 3 kids are 21+ and he pays $100 a month. We don't need it now like she needed it then, and he will die before he pays it all off.
