  • No... There's no way to guarantee that the person who uses an account is a teen or a molester/pedophile. With teens being allowed here, numerous adults can keep an eye on the conversations on AB.
  • No, some of the best contributors on this site have been teenagers. Some are immature I will admit but in the main they are intelligent mature and think very seriously about the answers and Questions that they post. I have been given incredible knowledge, support and strength by some of our teenagers.
  • Then, we would miss all the 'am I pregnant' and 'what kind of pill is this' questions
  • No, I do not think it would be more helpful. I see more immature adults on here than I do teens and I welcome their refreshing ideas and opinions. If Suzie online is really Frank offline can join and no one know.. then the same can be said for peoples' ages. We have no way of knowing who is honest or dishonest unless they are blatant about it. This site is moderated and I think that is helpful in keeping us all here together.
  • The first thing that comes to mind to me is the benefit of age anonymity. Being able to ask questions without knowing the exact age range of where it is coming from, allows people to ask and answer more freely and honestly. And perhaps prevent jumping to conclusions too prematurely. There is no direct correlation between age and wisdom. Yes - there is a general, stereotypical belief that younger people don't know as much, but I believe that it is our life experiences that allow us to share wisdom and advice, and ultimately, grow. Age can and does dictate actions and experiences, but everyone is so different that what one may learn can be completely different for two people in the same situation. I am often sought out for my advice, and while flattered and honored at the same time, I am careful to simply share what I have been through and what I felt and did. I am by no means educated on the "secrets of life", or everything there is to know -- after all, I am still young and have a lot of learning left to do! However, I think that whether it is a 50 year-old sharing with a 15 year-old, or the other way around, that our situations may be age-dependent, but our learned lessons and opinions may not be.
