Depends on the temperature but from a cold start say 40º (f) to 72º (f) I say about 20 minutes with the central heat/air unit. If I start a fire in the fireplace as well it takes about half the time.

It varies from 10-20 minutes depending on the temperature outside. I use a gas fireplace with a remote control and shut the doors to rest of the house because my house is large. Rarely, do I have to turn on the gas furnace. That's my way of economizing.
