I would name my star Astro. Because, when I was a young kid I thought I was an ASTROnaut, I jump off the roof and broke my right leg, I now have scars all over it, one of my scars needed a skin graft, it was in the shape of a star, that is why.

That questions makes me laugh... not necessarily at you, but when people say things like "OWN a star"... I down own any stars! No one can honestly "Own" a star. I don't care if I payed 7 million dollars, that star is not mine. In fact, it probably doesn't even exist anymore. I know this answer isn't helpful so I'll answer partially... If someone "Donated/bought/whatever" a star for me, I would probably just call it The Star... I probably wouldn't even know where in the hell this star is, because I'm not that into astronomy, and couldn't tell ya which star was which.

I actually had the opportunity to name a star. I didn't find it myself, I went to the Star Registry and got to pick a star that wasn't named and named it myself. It's named after my dad which died in Iraq and won the medal of honor. SFC Paul R. Smith. It's also known as Aquilla, meaning Eagle, which was funny because my dad was fascinated with eagles.
