I love playing chess. I stopped playing for about 10 years becuase due to work commitments and not being able to find someone of a similar level. Now I play in the internet all the time. The flexibility is great -being able to choose how long you want to play for etc. So I cna play people of a similar level to myself. You can find everyone from total beginners to grand masters. My favourite is playchess.com. You can play free as aguest but if you want to get a rating etc -need to pay. Yahoo is very good too and its completely free. I am back playing for a club - as work commitments are not so bad. Chess on the internet is good, but it is much better when you can see your opponent squirming. Unfortunately its normally me squirming but never mind.

I don't play regularly at all, and I'm not the most strategic player, but I enjoy the occasional game with my brothers alot. My Dad is like Kasparov in comparison, it's so unfair. He gives me the genes for baldness and increased risk of heart attacks, but he won't give me a chess gene. :(

I am from India, I have won state tournament for different categories (u-12, 14 etc..) for many time, I have played national 5 times. but due to carrer I had to drop it, I love to play it still, but not getting proper company now a days. but I like it always.

I do like playing chess. But I don't play often, because I only know a couple of other people who know how to play it. Also, it's difficult to find time - as you know chess games can take hours. (Especially if I am playing)

ok well as much as everyone around me thinks that chess is a nerdy game, I really enjoy playing and now im going up for the provincial tournament cause i got a cip invite, anyways im just saying for everyone out there that if you like the game then play it as much as u like, I meen I play it for fun sometimes, but I go to a chess club every tuesday night. I used to play real chess, and I was very good at it for my age. Nowadays, I only play internet chess from time to time. I guess what I do now is "PAWN N00BS!" Ahaha! Sorry.....

Yes. There is nothing quite like the enjoyment of forming a strategy and being able to change as the game evolves and progresses. It's especially enjoyable when you have a challenging partner, or if you are teaching someone. Right now I am teaching my son and it's wonderful fun.

I play all the time, i have 78 online games going at the moment, but was hammered recently by my 13 year old niece,no i'm not useless- shes the Devonshire under 18 chess champion and is in the England team. But i still felt gutted!

Yes. My dad used to play chess and one night my brother and I saw him working on a chess problem (I was 7, my brother 4) and that's how we got started. I played a lot in college (I beat a rated Master 1 out of 3 games) but with an average course load of 18 to 22 credit hours a semester, I didn't have time to try for the chess team. I'm rusty now because I don't have the time to play seriously, although, I've played Chess Titans on Vista a couple times.
