In short, yes. There are no reasons why different breeds of dogs can mate and in fact some really great dogs come from mixing a variety of breeds you would not expect. On of my favorite cominations is a golden retriever/ cocker spaniel mix. If you visit your local shelter, you will probably be amused at some of the dog mixes that you see. It is quite possible for a small dog and a large dog to mate. However, if the smaller of the dogs is the female, don't expect a litter larger than three and more likely just one or two puppies. Smaller dogs tend to have smaller litters especially when they have large dogs genes to battle with.

id really like to see those puppies. well when breeding them there could be some difficulties if the mother is the pekingese. The puppies could be too large.

Yes- it is possible, and my dog, Jack, is a Rottweiler Pekingese mix. At about 35 Lbs he looks like a mini bernease Mt. Dog-and is all around the best. I have never seen any other pek Rott mixes, but I would love to see if there are any others out there.

As previously stated.. YES! It all depends upon which is the male. I know a guy that had a PittBull-Chihuahua mix. They did it on purpose and held the male so he could mate. A small dog cannot hold BIG PUPPIES. So, you gotta be careful to not the female.
