  • better performance, but it won't pass a smog test and will confuse the ECU. you will trip the check engine light, and possibly start going through fuel really fast. you also might get black smoke (unburnt fuel)
  • First of all, it is a violation of FEDERAL LAW to bypass your smog controls in this fashion. Second, because your car is a post-1996 OBD-II car, the second oxygen sensor will get highly confused, setting off your "Check Engine" light, and possibly causing the engine computer to cut fuel to some cylinders because it interprets the oxygen sensor readings as a misfire. Please repair your car correctly. It will run better and save our air quality.
