  • If you have fibromyalgia you should be under a doctors care. He/she will prescribe pain medication for you, because I know it causes a lot of pain. I have a very rare nerve disease (CIDP) that causes much pain, and my doctor gives me very strong pain meds. My disease is similiar to fibromyalgia. Maybe if you rub some ben gay, or something similiar on your shoulder, that might help for awhile. Good Luck. Edit: Here is a good article about fibromyalgia, hope it helps→ http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/fibromyalgia/DS00079/DSECTION=treatments-and-drugs
  • Hi, Dixie Rock. Thank you for taking the time to respond. have been under a doctors care, but the one time he referred me to a rheumatologist, all the rheumatologist did was confirm the fibro diagnosis and told me to continue seeing my pc so he could be the one to prescribe the pain meds. For some reason in Arkansas they are extremely strict about prescribing pain meds and they treat me like a drug addict over Darvocet. It's so stressful I just don't even want to deal with it sometimes.
  • I think go and get more opinions from doctors, I learned recently, that even when they are 100% sure, they can still be wrong. And not just by a little! I had keyhole surgery recently and had sharp pains in my shoulder after from the gas they used to pump my abdomen up to expand it during surgery and I felt slow breathing, light pressure to the area and a hot water bottle... in your case though it's hard because we're all different and I'm not sure what causes your pain, go and get more advice... seek it elsewhere from different doctors is best I can say, take care :)
