Fill a sink with warm bubbly laundering soap and water. Put the hat in there upside down. Make sure the soapy water is passing thru and all around the cap. Let it soak for awhile to get all that nasty perspiration off the cap. Then drain the sink, refill with fresh warm water and rinse-let the hat soak again. Drain, rinse under running water one last time. Then go outside with that hat and hold it by the bill and swing your arm around for the spin cycle. Either hang it on a hook to dry or set in on top of a surface covered with a towel and let it dry.

Go to the river and find a big relatively flat rock to beat it against, and just keep dunking, and beating you hat against the rock, and then shape it, and sit it in the sun to pry : )
