Do you put wet your toothbrush and paste before brushing, or brush first and then wet it after you spit?

I put water on my toothbrush before brushing.

I wet if first, then brush with it. Being wet makes it more comfortable, but I think the fact that it makes it cold also helps.

i don't like a dry toothbrush before brushing and if you wet it after the paste is on then you waste toothpaste so i wet the brush, than add paste.

isn't the point of wetting the brush to clean it from the last use? So wetting it first is basically the same as wetting after you spit.. Personally, wet, paste, brush, spit, wet...

Wet it first (I think of it as rinsing it off...it could have dust on it. Also, that way the toothpaste sits on top and does not stick to the bristles. Keeps brush bristles cleaner longer). Then toothpaste. Then brush. Then rinse off. Husband loads paste on to a dry brush and it creeps me out.

Wet the brush, put on paste, wet again, brush, spit, wet the brush again and brush a little more (I feel like it gets leftover paste off my teeth), then wet the brush (to rinse it all off).

Well, I brush with my mouthwash instead of toothpaste, so that pretty much takes care of the wetting issue for me.

I just saw a comment from a dentist that said to dry brush teeth to remove the most amount of plaque and then use a second brush to clean with paste and water. Any comments on that?

I wet first, paste, brush/scrub, rinse brush, rinse my mouth, clean up dropped paste from the sink.
