Over the past year I've been reading fantasy book series by Authors like Robert Jordan, David Eddings, and Terry Goodkind. Does Anyone have any suggestions of other good Fantasy book series? I like the long series that really get into characters.

The Black Company series by Glenn Cook are a good read and its fairly long (nine books). I enjoy them as they tend to be fairly gritty with a number of shades of gray. Same author also wrote the Dread Empire series though I don't know if he ever finished that one (sales on the last book of it I know of being published were pretty poor). David Drake's Lord of the Isles and John Ringo's Council Wars series are also good, though the latter is not fantasy in the traditional manner, more along the lines of fantasy in the wake of the collapse of a ultra-high tech utopian world. Hard to explain but its a neat military-themed fantasy series.

The Chronicles of Thomas Covenant, the Unbeliever Series is good. a series of 3 trilogies (okay some have 4 books). Author: Stephen R. Donaldson I just wish he'd end the damn thing now... last book due 2009-ish
