Wednesday is the last day Albuterol inhalers that contain CFCs will be sold. The new version will cost five times more (between 30 and 60 USD for one) but will contain a more "green friendly" propellant. What are your thoughts?

Personally, I think it's bloody ridiculous. Bail out the Hummer factories, but take the affordable asthma inhalers off the market. Because it's the people that can't breathe already that are depleting the Ozone layer. What the HELL is wrong with the United States?

I think I need to hurry up and get mine filled. I am all for the going green stuff but you have to understand that some people can't afford the old one and they sure won't be able to afford this new one..they don't even think about those with no insurance coverage nor do they care. This will increase ER visits, etc because people will NOT be able to take treatments at home. IMO, it will be a very bad thing

I found out about this after the fact. I went to refill my wife's inhaler prescription and instead of $10 it was $40. But then recently she needed another refill, and our company switched all of us over to Kaiser - I went there and it was either $10 or $15, not sure. Go figure. I'm not sure if that just means that the generic drug makers are making the new ones now, or if Kaiser's just cool like that.

Bull Shit. I dont think "green" bull crap should be forced down our throats especially in the medical arena. this will just make it harder for those who need to get the medicine to get it, all in the name of saving some stupid tree.
