What color yellow? Maybe a soft gray or medium brown
-
Black can look dramatic, so long as they're not granny shoes!
-
black so you can look like a bee! im totally kidding you i have no idea
-
I think white would look best with yellow, probably a strapless white shoe if the weather allows it.
-
A medium or light green, if you have a pair, would look stunning. A matching handbag would be fantastic. Otherwise a muted brown shoe would be tasteful...depending on where you're going at what time of day. Green in the day, brown in the evening.
-
I would think that brown or white would look best. Good luck!
-
Black lol
-
Depends on the shade of yellow?
-
well It all depends on the shade of yellow, if its not brite yellow then a green/brown shoe would look good. a dark gray would look good also. I would not recomend black or anything shiny .. Good luck ! ( white might look good in the summer but not now)
-
I'd say either white or brown. Since white is expected, I'd go with brown for the dramatic effect of it all. Brown and yellow look classic together :)
-
i'm having the same issue with a yellow dress and everyone keeps suggesting ivory or an off white. doesn't work for me but maybe it will for someone else.
-
If you can use a scarf with the dress it would make it easier. That way you could pull in whatever color shoes you wanted.
-
Black!
-
Maybe silver? depending on the shade of yellow, maybe green (a nice green). And again you could try the clear shoes..good luck =]
-
Yellow, white, beige, tan or light to medium brown. Black only for high contrast in the evening.
-
i would really avoid black unless u want to like like a bumblebee. i would wear white or something thats brown.
-
if it's plain yellow.. i would wear white. but if there's any accent colors, wear the shoes that match the accent.
-
red. white. black. or maybe yellow...hmmm a nice brezzy shade of green would work too...or even blue...just not purple
-
It depends on the shade of yellow. I have worn yellow shoes with dark green contrast stitching since I wore it with a floral scarf bordered in dark green. Or yellow. I have a few pairs of yellow shoes in various shades, but I would not wear yellow shoes with a yellow dress--you would have to accessorize well to pull that off or else you would look like a banana :)
-
brown or black
-
Gold, wear gold shoes. Especially if it summer or spring. If its winter then tan or golden brown nothing too dark or your eye will be drawn down to your shoes and not your dress.
-
White shoes would look nice I think
-
black, brown, grey or white
-
I think a nude tone would look nice. Beige, tan. Something along that line. A brown tone would also do. Maybe even a gold shoe. Silver I think would be ok too, but gold may look better. If you look at what a lot of the celebrities are doing when wearing a colored dress you will notice many wear a nude, beige, or tan toned shoe. Something that is close to your skin tone.

I'm wearing bright pink strappy shoes with a bright pink corsage to pop off of my canary yellow dress! :) The key to making a totally weird color work is to accessorize well, so whatever you choose, just keep that in mind.
-
alicia made a good point about putting an odd color with something - her example was perfect. But if you prefer something more subdued, you could do yellow or white shoes or yellow & white shoes.
-
Cream colored shoes would work best.
-
Yellow or white I have to see the dress..
-
Hot pink! LOL J/K

I know that you were asking about SHOE color in this question. Here's some considerations that easily include shoes!! The literal 'temperature' of the yellow you have in mind, may help you decide. If its 'bright,' do you want to accent this kind of animation or do you wish to tone down by mixing this specific color or yellow with a 'softer' hue? Yellow is in the 'warm family' of colors. Anything that is 'warm' technically can 'go with' this color family. Depending of what 'statement' you are making (even if you don't think you are making a statement!), these choices could include everything from other yellows (tone-on-tone) to oranges, pinks and reds. On the color-wheel -- every gal should own one!!!! -- the direct opposite of yellow is blue. So, technicaly ANY blue would work with the yellow in question. This side of the color-wheel is called the 'cool family,' and include shades of blue, green, purple. Actually, it is way cool and fashionable to wear all yellow and have 'splashes' of other colors or more than one color = BUT ... the first questions I would ask myself are: • What KIND of event am I attending? • What TIME OF DAY is this event? • Is the event casual or more leaning toward a 'put-together' style? • Is this event for FUN ... STUDY ... FAMILY ... FRIENDS ... A DATE ... A SPECIAL EVENT? Color can only enhance and influence how you 'match' colors to these activities! • Am I more often than not comfortable in 'animated colors' or am I more comfortable than not in more muted colors? Do I want to change my mind for this specific event? • The fabrics you choose should also 'cooperate' with the type of fabric you are wearing though you obviously don't have to go with jeans with jeans or cotton though you don't have to go with jeans with jean or cotton with cotton. • Time of year is a 'playing characater' here as well, including whether you need to layer for the option of more warmth or have less on for a place not air-conditioned, right? And the last most important of all: • I know that comfort is everything! I want to be free to engage with other people without feeling 'hemed in' either by my choice of color or by the restrictions ANY potential garment I wear may offer! By the way: even when I 'dress up' wearing heals ... I always stash a pair of flats either in the car or a large bag ... just in case! I ONLY NEED TO PLEASE ME!

Hey there, I'm in the same predictament, I have a wedding in 3 weeks(May)and I've decided to wear a bright lemon dress. I found a beautiful floaty one on the net which is very summery. My problem lies with accessories and shoes!!! Because yellow has so many different shades it's proving vitually impossible to find the same shade that match my dress. I've considered ivory and a subtle gold but worried about them clashing. The dress has one black strap, which is covered slightly with a lemon part at the front but part of the black is still visible. So I am now considering a nice pair of black heels but they are such opposites colours of the spectrum that I'm scared incase it looks very wrong!! But then I read somewhere that this summer is all about mixing neon brights with bold blacks, and I've seen the likes of Victoria Beckham pulling of the look effortlessly, so maybe it's all about wearing the two colours with confidence and making a powerful fashion statement!! I guess it's all about what you feel comfortable with really, everyone wants to be able to relax and enjoy their day!!

Depends on the type of outfit, fall or spring time. And if there are nay accent colors in your outfit like black or white. Natural leather would be nice too. Really depends on the look you are going for.
-
depends on the dress and if your wearing any accessories with it. I would wear white, yellow, or pink. cause I have a yellow dress I wear all the time. i wear leggings under the dress and than i match the shoes with the leggings.
-
light grey & brown color with straight line
-
Green & Oren colour.
-
are you going casual or dressy?
-
Green :-) !
-
What color handbag are you planning to wear? Is there a contrasting belt involved? The shoes could go with the handbag and belt. I would strongly avoid purple. Other than that, it's really up to you and the rest of your outfit. I'd also stay away from black, unless you really want to look like a "Black-Eyed Susan" flower. Best of luck!
-
i would wear something that was bright not like pink but a blue maybe cause yellow and blue look good together......even one of the several dark blue shades would be alright just gotta have a matching purse

It's amazing how this summer season this year allows us to mix & match colors to our liking, so the answer to this question might just be to wide. Althought yellow is traditionally worn with whites or browns, if you chose a dress this color is probably because you want to make a statement and have every single eye on you, so I don't think going traditional is even an option. Let's get off our minds the thought of looking bee-ish, because black gladiator shoes and a short yellow dress can look seriously hot, and no doubt will keep you the center of attention all night long. About wearing neon colored shoes, it is a total DO this season (and even in years past and seasons to come), because being brave and showing confidence always works. I would go for dark purple, red or blue, since this are the colors that go best with yellow, again, TRADITIONALLY, so it is really up to you and what you want to say with your outfit, and wheter you want to be looked at & talked about or just stand quietly in the corner. Good luck =) -> Just so you know, I'm wearing an amazing little yellow ruffled dress for prom with high red heels... awesomeness =)

Where to start. I know i just bought a yellow dress and its gonna be a fav for me cause there are so many different color combos to choose. It all depends on what u wanna convey. Drama? Sweetness? Trendy? For drama, i would choose dark purple shoes w/ some nice purple acessories. Try and add a little metalic pieces in there. Speaking of metallic, for sweetness, how about ur yellow dress and some silver heels, and silver accesories. The yellow will soften out the silver. As for being trendy, try out a pink strappy heels w/ the yellow or a navy blue peeptoes. Green pointy toe shoes would look smashing. Red might also work. U could even accessorise w/ a small red flower in ur hair. Just making sure its not too cha-cha-cha! :) And yes, white is the obvious, but i always like to go for a basic but wow factor. And as for brown, well, its a little banana-ish for me. Unless u buy a great pair of bronze t-strap flat sandals (or gladiator type) than it would be a breezy sort-a look. I wouldnt really feel comfortable in a yellow dress and black shoes, but thats just me. All in all just have fun w/ it. If u have and instinct on something go for it. And if u have thee base and can't quite point out the look...just grab a magazine and try it out. Fashions everywhere!!! Fashion Is An Art! Ha!

White, open toe heel would look good, it would be a classic look. NOT BLACK. You'll look great!

I don't think you should be limited to only white shoes. Why don't you take a look at my answer to the question below this about a Salmon Color Dress. It also asks about a yellow dress in that same question after that. But my answer explains more options than my just picking one color for you. There isn't only ONE right answer to this. Take a look, and you might be pleased. VIVA COLOR! I wouldn't want to live in a black and white world, would you?
-
OMG! I almost forgot! You could wear brown/ivory pony or zebra print, or even leopard print -- if you've got it in you to wear animal prints! Cool! Very cool!
-
brown peep toes would look great ,i usually shop for my shoes and other accessories from Shoppers Stop as they have amazing collection in store
