Yes, without a doubt.

That's like asking "do you think people will like you more if you save a busload of school children or if you stab 100 people to death in their sleep?". It's so obvious. And you even framed it as a leading question just in case anybody was close to getting it wrong! That's why there is a Martin Luther King day in the USA instead of an Adolf Hitler day...

I find describing Abraham Lincoln, and Winston Churchill as "gentle, firm and kind" to be somewhat amusing. They, like Hussein and Hitler, were war leaders who issued orders to their military forces that resulted in the death of tens of thousands of not only their enemy, but of their own soldiers and civilians. The only unchallengeable difference between them and leadres like Hussein and Hitler was that Lincoln and Churchill were on the winning side of thier wars. And being the winners entitled them to determine what the peace after their war was going to be like. That's the only legacy that History really judges.

I cannot agree with your characterisation of Lincoln, and particularly Churchill, as "gentle" or "kind". Churchill was a ruthless bastard. But that is what you need in a time of all out war. Different times need different leaders.

How did Jesus lead? Who did Martin Luther King follow? Martin Luther was a follower of Jesus Christ and was a man of prayer.

There are many who disagree with your characterizations. And this comes from someone who doesn't understand how Yassir Arafat got the Nobel Peace Prize for his aggressions.

I believe we should take time out toto learn and understand the people we are dealing. In our own country we cant really communicate with other and certain steretypse still exist. For example people in the South are consider slow and not smart as the rest of the country. I am strong support of Lincoln and I believe that the Confederates were crinimals and anybody who supported them should be charge with treason. However, I agree History is written by the victors and dont always veiw others equally. But I always state dipolmacy first over bullets.
