I have the blackberry curve, and it has a setting that will allow or not allow duplicate numbers. To get to the setting go to Address Book, select menu, options, and you should find a setting that reads: Allow Duplicate Names: Yes or No, change to your desired setting

I believe you may be asking about receiving duplicate emails versus duplicate addresses. If you are receiving duplicate emails, then you may be receiving them from two different email addresses that are coming to your Storm. Do you have just one email address or two that come to your device? If two, this is why it appears that you may be getting duplicates.
