  • Oh yes. I am a recently recovered binge eater after 35 long years of addiction, starting from the time I was 13. I miss the actual food, the taste and the amount of it. I also miss it because it acted as medication for what ailed me...now I deal with my problems without the food, which is certainly a better, healthier solution, but very tough until you build up that "food won't help" muscle. I also miss the comfort the food would give me, even though I realize now and I even realized then that it was a fake comfort and would last only as long as the final bite. I am in a good place right now, but realize that it's a slippery slope, and I need to stay vigilant.
