  • Yes. They tend to do best with invertebrates but otherwise good choices are dragonettes (Callionymus bairdi), tiny trunk fishes (Lactophrys trigonus), small pipefishes, blennies, etc. Watch out for the pipefishes and blennies as they become fin pickers and more aggressive as they get bigger. Don't put seahorses in an aquarium with fast, agile, or aggressive fishes or active feeders such as damselfish, puffers, butterfly fish or angelfish. p.s. I'm insanely jealous if you have these beautiful creatures!
  • You have to be careful integrating other animals with seahorses, as seahorses are slow swimmers, and very timid. They may not get enough food. Some species attack them. I suggest you get a good book on seahorse care before integrating them with any type of fish.
