The hearing is usually the first thing in primary aging(natural not caused by any harmful exterior and environmental factors) to slowly decline, but I don't think it's until after the age of 30 it really starts to, but if you take of yourself and don't expose your ears to loud noises, and where earplugs when necessary, you can slow this process down a lot.

Say that again will you, i am 36 and didn't hear you properly.

25? Not really. My hearing didn't start going until I was ~32 when I noticed I couldn't quite make out the full tone sweeps of some of the music I listen to. Genie (by Airbase) especially.

My hearing is not as good as it once was. Ironically, it's because of the under 25s that turn the music up so loud at the gym!

The absolute threshold of hearing (ATH) is the minimum sound amplitude (level or strength) of a pure tone that the average ear with normal hearing can hear in a noiseless environment. The ATH curve rises with age as the human ear becomes more insensitive to sound, with the greatest changes occurring at frequencies higher than 2 kHz. Curves for subjects of various age groups are illustrated in the atached image.

As you age you start to lose the little fibers in your ears that pick up the noise vibrations and translate it into sound. The fibers that pick up high frequencies are the first ones to go. There is a mobile phone ring tone that only people under 25 can hear due to it high frequency, when the add for it comes on TV, I can't hear anything (I'm 29).
