I would be kind of happy. I'm really annoyed at how people are actually changing songs to make them say, "holiday," instead of the original, "Christmas."
-
I'd say, "Why should I automatically assume you were a Christian?"
-
Well Im a Christian, so I know where you're comin from...but, I think its not much of a witness. Just smile and say merry Christmas. I wouldn't say happy holidays but if I did, I wouldn't be up set if you said Merry Christmas...if you spelt it out for me, you would probably have a tongue lashing comin your way. That's rude, and uncalled for...I mean really.

I would respond with, "It is only Christmas for Christians who see Jesus as a part of God/Trinity ... and those who celebrate the birth of a prophet, such as some Jews & Muslims that merely acknowledge Him as a special human ... but for Tao-Zen Buddhists, such as myself, as well as Hindus, most Jews, most Muslims, and many, many others, it is just considered to be a beginning of winter holiday."

Well you would never be upset with me for saying, "Happy Holidays" because I say, "Merry Christmas" too - even though I am not religious at all! The point is, if people choose not to celebrate it, they can be polite and say, "Thank you, but I don't celebrate it." - Point taken. You do not need to change songs in schools, or anywhere else in order to be "politically correct". Even though I am not religious I support the fact that this country (USA) was founded on Christian principles, which has guided this country in the right direction for many years. Up until recently when people started complaining about having to be "politically correct" and removing the ten commandments from our Federal buildings and schools, etc. and removing the Pledge of Allegiance and moments of prayer "to accommodate everyone" have we started having problems. Our society is on a downward spiral of moral decline. Whew - now you went and got me started! IT'S CHRISTMAS - I am in total agreement with you!
-
If you got upset with me for wishing you "Happy Holidays," which I would not likely do because I say "Merry Christmas," I would think that you were a bit sensitive. I would apologize for offending you and say "Merry Christmas." So, I say, ready?... LATCHI KRITCHUNA! That was Merry Christmas in Romanes (the "Gypsy" language). ;)

When I greet people I do not know, they may not be Christian, and I do not wish to insult them. I am not Christian, so I celebrate the Holidays, but not Christmas.
-
People being PC(politically correct). However the country i live in is predominately category of christianity. Therefore I use Merry Christmas. Not because I want to insult the few/minority but it is a term of endearment at this time. If I lived in the middle east then I would respect there culture.

Not everyone is Christian or believes in the bible.

always a good idea to cover all the bases
