Why do I always smell smoke? I have had a head scan and there's no brain tumor. What else could cause this? Migraines?

Did you use to smoke at one time? If so your brain could be getting the sense of smell signals confused.

A short-circuit in your brain. This is not a bad thing, mostly like, just odd.
The brain is fully capable of recreating scenes with perfect sound, sight, taste, touch, and smell memory. [Awesome, huh?] A persistent scent memory is often kinda like getting a song stuck in your head. It also might be associated with a minor psychosis. Or you might have some (possibly hidden) issue that you are dealing with that is prompting that particular memory.
