  • 'alienation effect' I think. It's an odd expression, something along the lines of using common terms in language to express something which is really rather strange.
  • In Bertolt Brecht style of acting, it is similar to breaking the forth wall... This could be by the "actor" directly addressing the audience, breaking character, speaking in the third person... The point is to let the audience "know" the actor is acting...
