Either way is fine! The help that is offered is what matters. Whether you know them or not, unexpected kindness is always welcome.

According to me to help someone anonymously, is the hight of altruism, and it will also respect to the self-esteem of the person whom you help. I find it more joy in helping anonymously than openly. So I think it is better to help anonymously as much as possible.
