  • i say that poeple are not devoted to him but instead bring him out for their own stupied needs. everyone knows he is there they just dont want to admit theres a higher being then them they want to be #1.
  • Counting all people on the planet and the gods of all religions, then the vast majority of people believe in a god, and many believe in multiple gods. The numbers change when you consider various subsets of people and gods. For example, do you count children? Are they old enough to have beliefs of their own, or do they just believe (trust) what they are told? In the US, most children believe in Santa Claus and the Tooth Fairy. Likewise, the numbers change with the degree of education. Skepticism rises sharply when you consider only college-educated individuals. It is interesting to note that when considering the beliefs of people who do believe in a god, most of them do not believe in the gods of other religions (sometimes even when it is the same god with a different name). This means that most people disbelieve in more gods than they believe in. So when it comes down to it, there is much more disbelif in gods than there is belief.
  • There are more believers than unbelievers & I'm right in the middle of them :)
  • Man is a religious animal. It is in our nature to believe in a God, and if we can't find Him, we tend to make one up in His place. Only rarely do people allow their skepticism to override their natural tendencies. And when they do, many are like the ex-drunk who doesn't want anyone else to drink either.
  • I vote more. The rub is a lot of different God{s}, and regardless of what any says none can be proven. Faith is very powerful - it can also so be very personal, very subjective. People's faith can also be very judgemential.
  • According to Harris polling, roughly 90% of Americans believe in God. The older an individual, the more likely they are to believe.
  • No, but their are more and more people walking away from organized religion. It doesn't mean they don't believe in god, it means that the church lost it's followers. Some find another path, while others wash their hands completely. But no I do not believe that there are more of one; however, if churches don't change their ways soon there will be. Edited: You can down rate me, but it's still the truth. The shift away from Christianity and other organized religions: "The United States appears to be going through an unprecedented change in religious practices. Large numbers of American adults are disaffiliating themselves from Christianity and from other organized religions. Since World War II, this process had been observed in other countries, like the U.K., other European countries, Australia, Canada, and New Zealand. But, until recently, affiliation with Christianity had been at a high level -- about 87% -- and stable in the U.S." http://www.religioustolerance.org/chr_prac2.htm
  • More people believe in a God. But the amount of people that don't believe are catching up lol.
  • Religion has brought a certain amount of kindness and morality to the world, but the key problem is that they are inherently intolerant of other religions. The “word of god” may be perfect and incorruptible, but it is a thing translated countless different ways by man and therefore flawed. Why can’t we just love and respect one another without a book telling us that we need to? I look forward to the day.
  • "I am an atheist, out and out. It took me a long time to say it. I've been an atheist for years and years, but somehow I felt it was intellectually unrespectable to say that one is an atheist, because it assumed knowledge that one didn't have. Somehow it was better to say one was a humanist or agnostic. I don't have the evidence to prove that God doesn't exist, but I so strongly suspect that he doesn't that I don't want to waste my time." - Isaac Asimov
  • Religion is not about morality, at least it's not about its' adherents morality, though few religious people would admit that. It’s about community. I was baffled by how little attention religious people pay to their texts until I realized that.
  • The one true God not like in Egypt or Star Gate yeah it appears he must exist do the the fact that if he didn't the Universe would merely be one large black hole.. . .. . ..
  • Which god?
