Can you explain why in Sat Trek The Next Generation episode 5.24, "The Next Phase," when some characters temporarily became incorporeal, they could still breathe and were affected by artificial gravity and floors?

When Ensign Ro, Geordi, and that one Romulan officer were shifted slightly out of phase, they are still in phase enough for very small particles, like oxygen, to interact with their cells normally. As to the response to floors and artificial gravity, the artificial gravity on a starship of the 24th century relies mostly on quantum principles. They generate very localized fields of gravitons. These particles have the same impact on all matter, regardless of phase.

Dude... why not ask the question WTF is artificial gravity. Your trying to make sense of that when the whole show is based upon fictional and impossible science.
