  • I talk to my cat all the time. He has yet to answer with anything other than a seemingly appropriate, freaky, psychic-type set of blinks, licks and nods... That are more than likely, just my imagination. But sometimes... they seem so right.
  • I seriously believe that some animals have a general understanding of human language, yes. I had a cat who "talked" to me -- if he needed food (had an automatic feeder, so I didn't regularly check it each day) or thought the food bowl wasn't full to his satisfaction, he would come to me and meow, and when I looked at him, he would make small chewing motions with his mouth. Invariably, when I went to check, his food was low. His water bowl would be signaled by a meow and then him sticking his tongue out two or three times. He was a great cat, and died of old age in 2004. Last year, a cat began hanging around my fiance's house (now my husband and our house). This cat eventually became friendly with us, and began coming in for food. One day, he came in and we hadn't put food in his bowl yet. He came over, sat down in front of me, meowed... and then made chewing motions with his mouth. I was shocked. Recently, I told my husband that I sort of thought our new cat was my old cat, come back - reincarnated, perhaps? The new cat was sitting on his lap at the time, and I said, "Karma (my old cat) had a habit of hiding his face, putting his 'forehead' against your arm or whatever, when he was comfortable." The new cat stared at me for a minute, then put his 'forehead' against my husband's arm for about 5 seconds, then looked up at me... and repeated that three or four times. Then he hopped down, jumped up in my lap, and repeated the same thing with me - head down, stare, head down, stare. So yes - I seriously believe animals can understand human language.
  • I once owned a book that promised me the ability to talk to monkeys. I was about eight. I spoke in monkey for about a week.
  • Not exactly but I do have a sense about animals. One time this ferocious dog that was barking and snarling came up to my brother and I. I just reached down and petted it. Somehow I knew it wasn't going to bite me. And, it actually settled down after that.
  • Yes. Being an avid hunter has given me the ability to call in Gambels Quail. It is so cute to see the whole covey run toward me when I do a quail call. You should see the way they freeze up and fly away when they see me.
  • No, I also don't seriously believe that I can communicate with invisible sky dwellers, devils, demons, angels, fairies or any of that other voo doo
