  • simpler maybe be, easier I don't think so
  • in theory, yes, of course, but this applies to the same principle as communism. Without money, we'd essentially just work to provide one another with what we need to life, but with everyone getting equal treatment and rewards, there's no incentive to continue working. too many people would stop wokring and expect to still have everything provided for them. therefor, society would crumple and we'd be so removed from our working lives, we wouldn't have time to recover quick enough, not even to get food and many would die. in theory, great, amazing idea, i love it. but is it practical? no, money is the incentive that keep people working, beyond the "love of a job". without money, society would fail
  • I think it would be nice if there was no such thing as money but I'm not sure if it would make things easier. I think we would find other ways or services for currency. We do that in my house. My boyfriend and I have a joint bank account so bargaining for money is silly since its OUR money... not HIS money or MY money. Instead, we negotiate and barter for oral sex and backrubs and things like that! LOL I'll say, "If you vacuum the steps for me, I'll give you a bj and a backrub! Or, he'll say, "If you go to the store for me, I'll put out tonight." LOL We're so silly! LOL
  • For the world to work without money it would be severely altered, it would be nothing like it is now. Who knows what type of world that would actually be, it may be 100 times better than now, or 100 times worse. Given the state of the world as it is now, it wouldn't be easier it would be much more chaotic. And even if all problems caused by money were solved, other problems elsewhere would start cropping up. It's just the nature of reality that no matter what develops it will have an upside and a downside on each extreme.
  • It would be harder to win at casinos.
  • Yes, totally. I'm not sure how it would work, but if it meant me not having to spend half the morning on the phone to the bank, talking to some Irish bloke I couldn't even understand, and then half the afternoon in a queue, before finally getting to see someone and being fobbed off with some sh*t about them having made a mistake this weekend and I should be receiving a letter of appologies in the post this week. A whole day wasted today because my bank is *@#?+&% @~*$!! To answer your question, Yes! (I've had a bad day)
  • No, all social systems develop from a societal need, and the monetary system is no exception.
  • Yes. Then I would have more time to deal with my other responsibilities. Edit. Money is an artificial construct. If its not backed by gold or silver, then its not worth the paper its printed on regardless of its denomination.
  • Yes I think so. Money is the root of all corruption and evil. Think about people and status. That would change. Of course our society would change drastically and there would be adjustments. All people could actually work towards something more meaningful than the 9-5 job you participate in because you need a paycheck. Your time would be more meaningful and the end result of that is a happier you :)
  • for the situation i am right now i think it would be.
  • Great idea but I will not volunteer to be one of the first to try it. On paper very good , no paper very bad
  • No. Without money we'd revert back to a barter system. After all, you're not just going to give away what you have without getting something in exchange for your needs. To a certain extent this makes life harder as you'd have to excel at creating some service or product that you could barter with others (grow food in a garden, paint pictures, etc.). Money just created the common unit of trade, that's all.
  • No ... there will always be a need for some kind of exchange system. The problem is not so much 'money' iself but the way it is locked into our government controlled economy. Maybe if there was an equal world currency there would not be so much exploitation of the poor and corruption and greed by the rich!
  • ABSOLUTELY! As long as my debit and credit cards are accepted! BTW- without money, do you just plan to charm the plumber when the pipes break?
  • Money itself is just a face for the act of trading something for something else. Money, as an economic term, will always exist. Whether it's paper money or clams, it's always going to be there because people cannot be self-sustaining and must trade with other people to survive. Sorry, buddy!
  • Yes. I think it would be easier.I don't see anything wrong with the barter system.Just means that each individual would once again be responsible for themselves.I sometimes think that stupid people are taking over the world.
  • It probably would be, but then how do we obtain goods and services,
  • What I'm saying is that that could not possibly happen. For that to happen, other critical, essential-to-life things would have to change. S/he made no mention of that. My answer was perfectly reasonable.
  • No. We'd have to invent some method of commerce to replace it.
  • Not sure because there would still probably be some kind of competitive bartering system to obtain needed items, like food or clothing. I have a feeling that the Human Race would somehow complicate society in a number of ways, even without money! :)
  • Isn't that called socialism?
