Is the decision to remain a virgin until marriage usually a religious view or is it just a personal choice also?

It is mostly religious but some people just like waiting to be married so its special and not just for the sex part.

Some very religious people give up their virginity before marriage and some agnostics, atheists and others of religions that don't prohibit premarital sex choose to remain virgin till marriage or even for life. So clearly it can be one, the other or both. ...If you can apply the word Clearly to anything so unclear!

Personally I have never met a person that made that decision were both religion and personal reasons were there. I know people who have turned celebate for personal reasons only. Virgins however, at least the ones I knew, would say religion had more of an influence than that of personal reason or there personal reason was that of a religious belief. Again thats just been my experience. Other may disagree.
