That may be in the back of his mind. The dollars won't hurt. I do not know what the L.A. Galaxy is offering, if it is much more than a Real Madrid, or FC Bayern Munich would offer. The endorsements over here will be huge and this poser and his nig time poser wife will clearly enjoy hanging with the Hollywood crowd. Sounds like more fun than an afternoon with Wayne Rooney.

I dont think that comes in to his decision making process. He is upset he is not playing week in / week out - so you oculd argue that the easier competition will mean he will be able to play.. The main reason has to be that he will be earning $250m over 5 years. (£128M). Thats a lot more than Real were prepared to pay him. He will raise the game in the USA, which he says is important to him... I think he and his wife will fit in very well in LA. I wish I had his talent and could be offered the same contract. Unfortunately I dont - so best of luck to him.

I know the answer. In Real Madrid, Beckham earns about 5€m in salary, and about 20€m in advertising. But, he only earns 50% of what he should earn, because Real Madrid has his advertising rights. Now, LA Galaxy won't pay him the same or even more, but he will have 100% of the income he generates in advertising, so he should earn about 40€m in advertising per year.

Easy answer $250 million . he has hardly played at Real Madrid in the last 2 years, has given up the England Captaincy, Lost his place in the England squad ( much too soon in my opinion) although I am not a GREAT fan he is still good enough to play for England. What was left for him but to chase the dollar. He already had a school for youngsters in the game in LA so this was his next step. I wish them well . His treatment in England has not been great this last year. As for Victoria ever since they married they have torn her to pieces so why not encouage him to get away. GOOD LUCK TO THEM He is still only 31 not old at all. The game he plays does not require him to be fast that has never been his forte ,it is the passing of the ball that is his game and at that there are few better. So the easier competition issue does not arise

Perhaps he's manoeuvring himself closer to the Hollywood scene for when he can't "bend it" no more. Could the next "Bond" be a whiny, cockney who wears sarongs? I can see it now, "Live and let tie-dye"! LOL

I truly believe that he is a money grabbing little twerp. He says that he is moving to the U.S.A because he wants to 'increase the profile of the game in America'. Complete rubbish. He is moving for that $250 million he gets for having no good skill other than at set pieces and Posh is trying to revive a pop career there that should have bneded outright years ago. Advice to you Americans, don't buy any records she will no doubt release

because he wants to be more famous and america wants him as a celebrity - even though america are crap at football as a whole - he has links and knows lots of people over there so i personally think that he is doing it for the lifestyle - even though of this though i do like him still - i think he's hot and posh is sweet ! !

I think for a mill a week, you can get anyone to do just about anything. Plus his contract with Real Madrid was up and Manchester United did not want him, and he asked his wife her top 5 places she would consider moving to and California was one of the top places.
