Picasso has being highly analyzed through his hand writing, here is a quite accurate description of certain issues regarding his terrible temper.

The first thing we notice in Picasso's handwriting is the emotional volatility. Picasso was emotional dynamite and there is evidence of a somewhat manic quality. The sample below reflects clearly how he felt at the time of writing -irritable, angry and dictatorial. The sharp choppiness, the angles and distortions all add thrust to the total picture.

In his handwriting we can see the almost chaotic variations of slant, wild disorder and a complete disregard of the conventions of handwriting. Contorted words surrender most of their legibility to the authority of his dynamic will. Great waves of unruly passion stir in the depths of the darker strokes. His mood is volatile, angry and brooding. Note how the word "mort" or death is larger than all the other words. It shows frustration and anger amidst the chaos and creativity he rejected every vestige of conventionality. Picasso was a law unto himself. His handwriting shows it.

His daughter Paloma Picasso was interviewed in a TV program she was not kind towards her father. She said he was a dictator, abusive and oppressive towards women. He did not care on how women should be treated and was extremely cruel and intolerant. It is believed he had a mental disorder.

That is very interesting--that someone did handwriting analysis on his writing. I'm am very interested in the amount of creativity channeled through a human being. As I read and learn it seems the pieces of the puzzle are coming together. Somehow I'm feeling compassion towards the man because he worked on his art so long and lived so long. Thank you for your most interesting information!+

His total self-centeredness. He made everything - and that includes his personal relations - a subject for his art. He was obviously hardly capable of empathy on a personal level.

Picasso surely was an extreme case, but there are other great artists who had a difficult social life - Andy Warhol, for instance, or the Austrian painter Gustav Klimt (who fathered 14 children with several women). In case the name is not familiar: his Portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer was bought by Ronald Lauder for the Neue Galerie in New York for a world record price.

I've seen documentaries on Andy Warhol's Garage Days. They are eye openers of how artists lived and how society also didn't contribute to their quality of life. Klimt was a handsome man, reminds me a little of my dad (in looks only). I looked up his painting and other works. His style looks really familiar to me. Are there artists today that have possibly copied his style? I see that style on Art.com, where they sell prints of famous works.

Never mind. I checked on Art.com and it's all Klimt's work. There are 1,065 items listed there! I knew that style looked really familiar. It's really popular today. I like it! Thanks for added info.++ :)
