  • It's an optional tradition, just like a woman taking her husband's name, or not. The people who know me, know that I'm married - but why should I announce it to strangers? Wearing a ring informs strangers of something that is none of their concern and labels a person as a possession, not a person. I won't wear one.
  • Depends on the reason. I stopped wearing mine years ago because my fingers occasionally swell and the band would hurt my finger.
  • It depends. My father never wore one, did not even own one. But he worked with his hands, working on cars and welding and things... all places a ring could get caught and cause, if not injury, at least major problems. And since he did these things at home, he was doing them any given hour of the day. I have no problem with a guy not wearing one, just like I have no problem if a woman does not wear one. A marriage is the heart and soul, not a piece of metal, a stone, or even a piece of paper. Arisztid and I are not, and never will be formally married. Neither of us care. We are bonded to each other, and know this. That is enough for us. If others do not like it, it is THEIR problem.
  • I don't think much about, but maybe I did earlier. My husband stopped wearing his years ago when he had an accident in the shop and injured himself. I stopped wearing mine, just because I got tired of taking it off and putting it back on every time I had cleaning to do.
