Sorry,I cannot believe it. I am German, I know enough about AH and the history of our country. AH was one of the "greatest" murderer in the world, and many families suffered under his "politic" (my family as well). How can someone use Hitler as middle name? The problem are the parents, not the child. I am not sure if I look down on him, in any case I am surprised. And I would advise him to change or delete the middle name.

This is a terrific question based on the article. Here are my thoughts...While the parents have a right to name their child any way they want to, that doesn't mean they aren't complete idiots. At first I thought what a shame because this kid will get teased and when he finds out what his namesake was all about...yadda yadda yadda. But then I realized parents who name their kids Adolph Hitler, Aryan Nation, etc. are going to be teaching these kids all about hate anyway. It's truly unfortunate for the kids. I am also thinking the supermarket has no legal obligation to sell them a cake with this name on it. If a person wanted to have a cake that said "Fuck You" or something worse, I do not think the supermarket should have to honor that kind of request.

After further reading of the article I have to answer yes, but it would be stupid to blame the child. Instead I think we should focus on the parents that named him that way. This was the nail on the coffin for me: "The Campbells' other two children also have unusual names: JoyceLynn Aryan Nation Campbell turns 2 in a few months and Honszlynn Hinler Jeannie Campbell will be 1 in April."

To look down on someone because of their name would be to be as ignorant as their parents are.
-
No. But, I would look down on his parents.
-
It's not the child's fault he's named as such. I'd be wondering if his parents are of sound mind though.
-
No...but parents sure...

Nice Nice Nice Little Hitler while be a sociaopath in his early teens.

No, Unfortunatly you have to look to the parents. Children rarely are able to dictate the minor details of their own life. Despite the good meaning behind "Why" they named there child that, (names shouldn't dictate behavior ect) I just hope that they will be able to be stable parents for the child in question when the child comes to a full understanding of his name and the notority behind it. Hell, you never know, Adolf Hitler Campbell, could cure cancer when he's an adult.

You can't blame the child here at all, it's totally the parent's doing. Can they really be so shocked at the reactions of others? My guess, from the names of their other children, is that they are obviously white supremists, and most likely will raise their children to be just like them. In the meantime, I'm sure these poor kids are going to catch all kinds of hell growing up with such disturbing names. As far as the store refusing to do the cake, I don't think they have any legal obligation to do so, now do they? I've not heard of any lawsuit yet.

A name is just a name. I think the store that denied them the cake should be ashamed of themselves, a store is there to serve the customer.
