Lots of younger people these days have never been taught to chew with their lips closed. To those of us who were, this looks so piggish it's stomach-turning, so revolting we don't even want to mention it. That may be what he wants you to see.

Both - You may look like you're chewing your cud, like a cow. Very unattractive. He figures you're unaware of how bad it looks and when you see it for yourself, you will stop/change the way you chew.

I am not unaware of how I look. Plenty of people chew their gum like that. The problem is he always says negative things to me like my weight and in so many words that I'm a bad mother. And we all know how sensitive women are about their weight. He thinks I am beneath him since he's 58 and I'm 36. He talks to me like I am a child. He gets mad when I don't answer my cell phone but I'm not always able to answer it when he calls. But when I call him on his cell he don't answer his all the time. I can't go out unless it's with him but he goes out all the time with his friends. When I met him I already had a live in boyfriend and I told him that. I also told him about the problems me and my ex was having. We ended up together but when we get into arguments, he always bring up things about what I confided to him about my ex and I don't think that is right. I tried to be honest with him from the beginning but he's just using it against me now that he's with me. He thinks I am treating him the say way I treated my ex like cheating. I wanted to get rid of my ex and he did too. He fed me the crap like I can treat you better. I don't know if he's insecure about the age difference or that he lost his job 5 months ago. What should I do?

Well maybe so but if he didn't sit and analyze me all the time then that would be different. He wants me to lose weight. Well when we are eating at the dinner table, he keeps his eyes on me and then says you eat your food too fast that's why you can't lose weight. And he wonders why I don't want him to go to the gym with me. He tries to control everything I do and I won't let him. He was going to the gym with his friend but his friend's wife started going with him and now my boyfriend wants to go with me. I told him no. The gym is where I go and relax and keep my mind focused and I don't need him there trying to tell me I'm not doing this right and you need to do this to get that belly fat off your stomach. That's why I don't want him to go with me. He didn't think about going with me when he was going with his friend so why should he go with me now. He also sings. He goes to karaoke night on Wednesdays. He have been doing this since we started talking 2 years ago. Well I play piano so we kind of got the musical relationship going on. He comes and tells me how people be screaming his name and hollering while he sings because he can sing good. But when I first asked him about me going with him one night to karaoke he said that is his hobby and I need to find a hobby of my own. So I took it as he must don't want me to go with him for some reason. He have invited everyone else but me. He stays out on a Wednesday night at karaoke until after 12 midnight. He knows on Friday nights I go out. Then he wants to try to take me out knowing that I go out with my girlfriends on Fridays or sometimes by myself. He have a night out on Wednesdays so why can't I have a night out on Fridays. Then when I tell him that I'm going out he says that everytime he asks me to go out I always say no but he asks me knowing that I am already going out. He's a trip. He thinks because he is 22 years older than me then I suppose to do what he says and he can do what he wants. But that will not happen with me. Then when I had been going to the gym for a while, he said I was losing weight and that I may need to stop going because I was getting fine and other people might try to talk to me or I may try to talk to someone else. Now he wanted me to go the gym to lose weight and now that I'm losing weight and looking good he wants me to stop going. I told him he needs to make up his mind.
