My partner's cookies. Not all of them, but this one very simple recipe that calls for only almond paste, sugar and egg whites. They're a Christmas traditionin his family. They are a light, airy cookie. Slightly crisp on the outside and meltingly tender on the inside. And they taste like almond blossoms smell! :)

Chocolate Liqueur Cherries. They are available mid-November through the end of December (or when they sell out) each year at Trader Joe's. An import from Hungary, they are absolutely delicious. We just stumbled on them a few years ago and now it is our "gotta have" treat each year! :) ((hugs))

Swedish coffee bread. It is a rich eggy bread similar to brioche or challah. Flavored with cardamom seed. Sprinkled with coarse sugar when it comes out of the oven.

It isn't Christmas without turkey with all the trimmings and stuffing. Family tradition, almost like another Thanksgiving. My sister normally holds Christmas at her house and has tried switching to other meals in the past but someone in the extended family always comments that it just doesn't seem like Christmas without turkey.

"Crabbies" and booze. In case you're wondering what I'm talking about, crabbies are these things that my mom makes as an hors d'oeuvre. They're English Muffins with crabmeat and Old English cheese spread, baked in the oven and then sliced up like tiny pizzas. Delicious!
