  • There should be a cap. But if there was a cap it would give players a reason to under perform (which would make college football boring). This wouldn't apply to all players only NCAA Div's 1-3. Community college players don't really get as much attention as NCAA school players do. For the second part that falls on the team because of the rules of drafting and contracts to said players. I personally think by a team saying with our #1 Draft pick we choose the best QB in the nation is a Gambit. They dangle a great player in front of fans, who (depending on what team it is) now because of this savior believe they have a chance to win something and rush out to buy season tickets and what-not (sorry Detroit Fans) only to have the player hold out for a huge contract. NFL execs know exactly what they are doing. Yes he should have to play for who drafted him and I mean really play.
