  • No, because your answer could be rubbish/unhelpfull/taking the erm..mick. It could also be incorrect. If you gave everyone who answerd questions positive ratings then the people who give the really good answers dont stand out.
  • No - only if your answer is judged to be "helpful".
  • Only if you answer it well, articulate and actually have a point to what you are saying
  • If you are referring to the question that I answer, not always. Sometimes the question already has points & I feel that represents it well enough. Other times it is just an average question. I only gives to points to questions I particularly think are interesting or thought provoking. If you are referring to my answering of your question, points are not necessary (although they show someone read you answer).
  • For anyone who answers my questions I give them a positive rating... however some answers are not as good as others. I would like the ability to half-rate someone to show appreciation for taking the time to answer my questions. Edit Sometimes I answer a question but I don't think it deserves a positive rating. Answering and ratings are seperate. :)
  • I usually rate the questions I answer. Sometimes, I just answer. It depends.
  • Rating and answering are separate. # Sometimes I rate a question without answering. # Sometimes I answer and rate a question. # I might only answer the question.
  • g'day Windwalker, Thank you for your question. I generally rate the question and sometimes other answers. If I don't rate the question, it is generally because I forgot than for any other reason. Regards
  • I won't even respond to a Q if the poster does not rate the credible answers that are contibuted to it, why wast my time? This seems to be the trend lately on AB, well, actually it's been going on for awhile, but it needs to be remedied. The lack of a poster not rating really lets the new people down and makes them feel unwelcome, it also wastes the time of the higher authority, and inspires trolling. It is only common courtesy to rate the more credible answers, I am not saying you should rate everybody, but you should pay attention to those who have submitted and exceptional effort. Thank you.
  • It depends. I will rate some questions that i do not answer. I tend to always rate questions that I answer, either up or down.
  • I rate questions I answer and do not answer, and I also answer questions I don't particularly like, but I feel strongly compelled to have my say.
  • I do generally rate the question but I am afraid most people do not, In fact I think most people do not even bother reading more than the first one or two of the answers which is why the top two or three get very high marks and the rest very few if any at all. I do rate other answers when i answer a question and sometimes I do answer questions that really are not worth answering but then at some times there is nothing around worth answering. Or if there is I do not know where to find them
