  • probably not but you know you are taking a huge chance... i don't know what the big deal is if they find out but i'm better sure it's huge... if it makes you worry.. makes you feel guilty, or akward or any sick feelings... i would just wait because all the money is being spent in the church and what not. everybody is going to be there to witness it. and your getting married at a courthouse, which is nothing wrong, i wish i could help more. just follow your heart, your the author of our own chapter. no matter what you do, no matter who finds out, it shouldn't matter because it's your life
  • I don't see why they have to know...Is there some sort of rule that you can't be married through the courts before you get married through the church? If there is that's kind of ridiculous.
  • You can have both a civil and church ceremony and neither should interfere with the other!
  • Why not ask your Pastor/Priest/Vicar what they think?
  • First of all, what better way to start a marriage by trying to figure out a way to lie to your church. If you feel like getting married in a court before you get married in church just tell them. You are an adult now and that is the adult thing to do.
  • Well, you would have to get a second marriage license for the church wedding - which might be tricky since you already had one for the courthouse marriage. Just let the clergy of the church know that you only want the religious ceremony and not the civil part, since that will already have been taken care of. They shouldn't be offended.
