Why do people believe in such an entity as the devil,when there is no proof ,at all, that such a being exists?

When you believe in a benevolent, omnipotent, loving higher being, you need an explanation as to why the world isn't perfect. Also, SOMEONE had to put those dinosaur bones there.

Why do people believe anything they can't see with their own eyes? You've never SEEN evolution or global warming or the Spanish Inquisition, but you may think they are real. There are people that gather in groups and pretend to cast freaking spells, I don't hear all sorts of people crying about how stupid that is. The world is a crazy place, most people believe in ghosts and aliens, why not an absolute Good and Evil?

What makes you think that only the things you can see are real? Is there any evidence for love or hate, other than your belief in them? I see evil in this world, and someone is behind it. That entity is the opposite of the person I know as God, who is the author of all good.

They believe in Satan because people don't want to take responsibility for their own disgusting actions, and have to put the blame elsewhere, as if they couldn't possibly be part of something so dark and wretched, when all testaments to hatred, pain, greed and conflict are so clearly attributed to mankind so much more than to any other "entity", that is, aside from the aspect of justification and delusion to which it caters to in order to make us feel better about such horrendous acts as masturbation, war or racism. Makes me sick. I'm just as horrible as the rest, but at least I don't pretend any of what I do is something or someone else's fault.
