Many people prefer Cialis over Viagra due to its duration in your system. It's nickname is the weekend pill because the medication lasts up to 36-hours. That does NOT mean you are hard for 36-hours. After you take Cialis (and Viagra works the same way) you still need to be sexually stimulated to achieve an erection. After you ejaculate your penis returns to its natural limp state...you can achieve another erection through sexual stimulation (usually) if it is within the time frame of the medications duration in your body (Cialis=36 hours, Viagra=4-5 hours). Here is a comparison chart you can check out that compares the three major erectile dysfunction drugs - http://www.accessrx.com/viagra-cialis-levitra-comparison-chart.htm

It all depends on the cause of your E.D. If it is all or partly from blood pressure or cardiac sources, yes it will help. If it is from surgery, like prostate, or if it is emotional or psychological, it likely will not help. It will not increase your desire,(libido) just your potential for erections.
