No not really. Anyone who wants to can celebrate in an appropriate manner even if the world around is gorging itself in a feeding frenzy
-
What's so undignified about it? Also, would having the celebration in any other date make it any less noticeable?
-
How's it undignified? They can personally celebrate it in any way they like, so I don't see what changing the day would do.

How can Christians renounce Xmas when 'X' is one of the earliest symbols for Christ. Happy Christmas or Xmas to you.

The celebration of Christmas -- the birth of Jesus Christ -- has become commercialized if that is what you mean by the celebration needs to be more dignified. But quiet, no not necessarily. It's a time for love, peace, goodwill toward men and joy as written in these verses: The Gospel Of Luke 2:10-14 And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.
