  • I had been working in a position as a secretary for a company for six months and I was trying to get ahead. I was over qualified for the position, and wanted to make a great impression. When my boss found out I had a journalism background I was given the opportunity to do an interview of a distributor. I performed the interview and wrote the story. My supervisor on the project said, "Oh great job! Now, we just have to change some wording on these quotes..." I felt very strongly that the wording he was changing actually changed the intent of the person I interviewed. I even called the person to clarify their intent (NOT telling them why I wanted to check it). When my boss wanted to make the change, I told him I wasn't comfortable with what he was doing. He didn't seem to comprehend that what he wanted to do was ethically wrong. He didn't seem to think of it as an ethical question at all! In the end, he did what he wanted and changed the quotations. It has cost me in my chances to advance with the company, but at least I know I did the right thing.
  • Sure. Last year I led a school-wide campaign of over 400 families calling and emailing more than 12 senators and state representatives on behalf of children. The district's 20j funds (created by Proposal A) were being threatened among other forms of state funding for public education. I will stand up proudly and powerfully when politicians pass legislation for one purpose and then later try to 'redistribute' funding to fit their own purposes.
  • A few Rick. And it ain't over yet yo...:)
  • Yeah, I can but she won the argument anyway
  • yes!!! When I was being made redundant I told the director of the business that I thought his business trips were excessive and if he wanted to cut back he could cut back on the excessive first class travelling people are doing within the business rather than getting rid of neccessary staff! I told him I go cattle class everywhere, cut back on hotel spending and that i am never excessive! I really felt duped as you can tell!
  • Where? In the real world or would on AB count as well? I think spanking children is child abuse. I believe parents who indulge themselves like that are child abusers. I shall never change my mind about that. I've taken some rude remarks and a lot of flak because of my belief..nevertheless, that is what I believe. Also, washing the mouth out with soap..using "hot sauce" to encourage good behavior..all child abuse. :)
