I say "mechanized dandruff" or "black syph!" Heh!

STD would also mean 'Subscriber Trunk Dialing'. Too many pulic phone booths with the legend 'STD' prominantly displayed. So VD would be more appropriate to prevent confusion among common people.

STD. That's what they taught when I was in school. Now, they're calling them STI's (sexually transmitted infection).

Sexually transmitted disease, I think we don't need to use an euphemism anymore for that one. But it seems that the expression "venereal fluids" is still broadly used.
