Can someone explain to me in plain english what is going on with the Canadian government now?

The government was halted by the Prime Minister because the 3 other parties who hold the balance of power tried to take over the government via a coalition between them. They lost confidence in his leadership and thought they could take over so he halted government until January, when he will table a new budget and try and regain the confidence of parliament again. If he doesn't we could be doing this again or have another election in the spring. It's just a big power struggle. A bunch of spoiled kids that want it their way.
